The 25 Hour Society
With average working hours continuing to decline and with people feeling both time as pressure as well as opportunity, this report focuses closely on the changing way individuals spend their leisure.
This report explores the hypothesis that 'busyness', particularly in terms of leisure activities, is becoming an important signifier of social status. We examine what today's individuals mean by 'doing nothing' and summarise some time data findings to explore the average person's time use patterns in terms of what they actually spend their time doing, where they do it, and with whom.
