The Future Foundation runs a number of highly regarded events throughout the year – namely our Changing Lives conferences within the UK, France and across Europe, and our State of the Nation conferences.

Changing Lives is a research study started in 1980 to track the changing aspirations, attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of the UK and European population.  Repeated each year, and since 1996 twice-yearly within the UK, and twice-yearly across Europe since 2002, it provides a rich, arguably unparalleled picture of the UK and Europe today.  Owned and used exclusively by the Future Foundation, the study rotates many of the original questions but also gives us the opportunity to introduce new topics.  The study forms the backbone of our nVision services refreshing our reports, key trends and micro-analysis.  Each year we hold half-day conferences to examine the latest results and discuss how these shifts in behaviour might play out in the future.

The State of the Nation series is our annual flagship event, running since 2001.  The conference programmes are a mix of new insights, critical trends and strategic implications that have emerged from our work over the previous year.  Our aim of this full day event is to paint a picture of what the future holds for individual consumers and organisations by looking at the emerging political, economic, social and consumer environments.  These conferences are aimed at senior level managers, decision makers and strategists involved in marketing and communications, product development and research.
